Chiara began dancing modern jazz at the age of 11. Through the years, she tried African dances and for more than 10 years focused on contemporary dance, performing with professional dancing companies under the direction of Maria Cristina Fontanelle.
Being keen on old black music, she studied Afro-American dances: she gets the inspiration for her first performances with the Soulfulettes from the musicals of the ‘50s and ‘60s, and researches backwards reaching, eventually, the Swing era. When she met Lindy Hop, she felt she had found what she was looking for, and when she met Charleston and Jazz Roots, she felt at home.
Since 2008 she has been travelling around Europe to take part in international festivals and since 2009 she has been teaching, organizing swing events and producing shows. She continues to study in order to improve her style. She considers as fundamental the classes in Charleston and Jazz Roots taught by teachers such as Steven Mitchell and Evita Arce.
She worked as dancer and choreographer for various companies, for the Caduta Theatre, Rai Fiction, Arezzo Wave Festival and Torino Jazz Festival.
Since 2014 she is part of the staff of Dusty Jazz as teacher, dancer, choreographer and event organizer.
